Invisible Man

Although openly gregarious, I am a “private person” when it comes to laying bare my emotions and inner thoughts. Perhaps this is why I have the facility to attract and collect people; Participant; Philip Sharp, 2001

Philip asked me do create a portrait of him. Every time I tried to find out who he is, he would introduce me to another friend of his. Here are 66 of his friends. The closer you move to the image the harder it is to see him, the further away the easier it is – just like Philip. When I showed him the portrait I looked at my feet and said that I thought that he was afraid of letting people get too close to him and that the image was about just this. He said ‘only a true friend would tell me.
